London, UK (July 2011); Rising star Dina Said will showcase her new collection from her brand Nana’s Closet at London Fashion Week for the first time this September. The show will mark the start of Said’s expansion plans in Europe.
Dina grew up in Cairo where her talent was evident at the tender age of thirteen. She studied business and management at the Faculty of Commerce and participated in the Lebanese Future channel’s show “Runway”, competing to win the title of Best Designer. She then completed a fashion design course and worked as a brand manager for the Al Sawari Company and Zara.
2009 saw Dina launch her own brand, Nana’s Closet. The name was inspired by her grandmother’s wardrobe, which is full of lovely, long-lasting hand-made clothes and accessories. Dina has gained much attention after winning Egypt’s Designer of the Year in 2010 and it is easy to see why. Her luxurious yet functional designs are the perfect mixture of feminine and masculine and her summer collection was a heady fusion of tribal and colour-blocking themes accented by her trademark embellishments.
Dina aspires to honour the pact she made to revive Egyptian haute couture, and with plans to expand into Europe, she wants to steer clear of mass production and continue to make unique, timeless, hand-made garments.
Attracting even more attention for her creative line, Dina Said will be presenting her elegant yet edgy designs at the prestigious “A La Mode” show hosted by LGN Events during London Fashion Week in September 2011.
