Independent designer Cristina Cernei to showcase her glamorous, feminine designs in London this summer

London, UK (May 2011); Bucharest based; independent designer Cristina Cernei will be hitting the catwalk with her latest collection at the LGN Events Summer Showcase on 8 July.

Cristina Cernei is a Bucharest based, independent Romanian designer. Her passion for design transpires in limited edition and unique pieces made with an incredible attention for detail. Her designs are a blend of geometrical shapes with surprising volumes, glamorous silhouettes, origami shaped or hand painted couture, always keeping in mind and respecting the feminine body shape. She strongly believes that clothes are a way to express personality and that’s why meeting a person dressed the same way is unacceptable. Her designs have a strong individuality which is also highlighted by the fact that all of them have women’s names. Bold shapes are created using excellent quality fabrics with a touch of manual applications and also hand painted details to create that unique look that Cernei stands for. All the clothes found at the boutique Fusion by Cernei in the historical center of Bucharest are carefully put together in her own workshop.

Special attention is given to the multifunctional aspect of Cristina Cernei’s designs and currently she’s taking the concept of intelligent fashion to another level collaborating with researchers for interface cultures at the Art University in Linz, Austria. Cristina Cernei’s clothes have been presented in yearly local fashion shows and the international success of her designs was also confirmed by the boutique in Parma, Italy. Her works have been featured in local and international publications, various cultural events such as the Romanian Movie Industry Awards, Transylvania International Horse Show, Dinner in the Sky, several TV shows, theatre plays and fashion fairs. Clients range from diplomats, socialites and artists to local celebrities and what they all have in common is a taste for excellent design.

The LGN Events Summer Designer Show will take place on Friday 8 July at Premier Members Venue Alto. Doors will open at 6.30pm with the show commencing at 7pm.
